Extension Privacy Policy
Bloomberg Terminal lite Chrome Extension
Last updated: December 2025
This Privacy Policy describes how the Bloomberg Terminal for Chrome extension ("the Extension") handles information.
Information We Collect
The Extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information.
Specifically:
- We do not collect names, email addresses, account credentials, or identifiers.
- We do not track browsing history or activity outside the Extension.
- We do not sell, share, or monetize user data.
Local Storage
The Extension uses Chrome's local storage only on the user's device to save:
- Watchlists
- Custom workspaces and layouts
- Selected tickers
- UI preferences and settings
This data never leaves the user's browser and is not accessible to us or any third party.
Market Data & News
To display market prices, company information, charts, and news, the Extension retrieves public financial data from third-party data providers (such as financial market data APIs).
- Requests are limited strictly to market-related endpoints.
- No personal or identifying user data is included in these requests.
- Returned data is used only to render the terminal interface.
Remote Code
The Extension does not download or execute remote JavaScript code.
All application logic is packaged within the Extension. External data is retrieved strictly as JSON or static resources and is never executed as code.
Third-Party Services
Third-party services are used only as data providers. These services operate under their own privacy policies. The Extension does not share user information with these services.
Data Security
Because no personal data is collected or stored remotely, there is no risk of personal data exposure from our systems.
Changes to This Policy
If the Extension's functionality changes in a way that affects privacy, this policy will be updated accordingly.
